The “3G-1R” System at SUKM

“3G-1R” stands for Green Mind, Green Factory, Green Product and Recycle and this system underpins SUKM’s environmental and social activities. Listed below are a few examples of what types of actions would fall under each category:

Green Mind: Actions such as training, education, awareness initiatives, Intranet-based information sharing system, ‘EnviroNews’ internal newsletter, annual Environmental Site Report, the Solar Education Centre (incorporating the Solar Installers’ Academy), Prince’s Trust Charities, other Charities.

Green Factory: Actions such as the Energy Management. Committee and Energy Champions, use of Solar PV energy, waste segregation and recycling, emissions mitigation systems.

Green Product: Actions such as Eco-design for materials reduction and energy consumption, RoHS Test Laboratory, internal REACH compliance database system, Green Procurement System, Corporate Social Responsibility System.

Recycling: Actions such as total waste segregation, waste office paper shredded for use as animal bedding at the Clwyd Special Riding School, waste wood supplied for nature conservation projects (dipping platforms, etc.) with the North Wales Wildlife Trust and other local community projects.
