Sharp has put in place an Energy Management Committee and appointed “energy champions” and task teams to each area of the operation and have created an internal energy management website to further assist in the CO2 and energy reduction program.
On 1st April 2010, the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme Regulations came into force in the UK. These Regulations mean that not only Sharp Manufacturing, but all other Sharp offices in the UK are required to work together to reduce all of Sharp’s CO2 emissions in the UK. As part of the compliance to these forthcoming regulations, all Sharp UK operations came together as one group and successfully achieved the early action metrics required and recognised under the CRC Regulations.
