At our Sharp manufacturing facility in Llay near Wrexham we produce over 4,500 solar panels a day. Solar cells used to make the large panels are very fragile and are easily damaged. Due to the volume of production we have a regular supply of damaged cells which we sell on to third parties.
Examples of Damaged PV Cells
left: Polycrystalline cells, right: Monocrystalline cells
Many of our customers use them to make small modules or products which require smaller solar cells such as calculators, torches or garden lights.
Potential uses for damaged PV cells
We have both Polycrystalline and Monocrystalline cells available. We grade them into different sizes and classify them as either:
- Potential Halves
- Potential Quarters
- Fragments
