Extra-special sound from just 26 millimetres: Sharp makes the world’s flattest television sound bars for an audibly improved TV experience

Whether you’re watching the latest Hollywood blockbuster, your favourite TV series or an important football match, the HT-SL70 and HT-SL50 sound bars from Sharp deliver excellent sound to match your TV experience and blend perfectly with the look of your home. They are only 26 millimetres thick, making them the slimmest of all TV sound bars currently available anywhere in the world, and this extreme thinness means they take up virtually no space regardless of where you position them in your sitting room. They can be integrated with absolute ease and require minimum space. What makes them so appealing is their flexible accessories, which enable them to be positioned anywhere you want. A simple screw-on attachment lets you mount them horizontally on a wall, or you can position them upright using a small acrylic stand. A special feature is the HT-SL70’s advanced attachments system, and thanks to the connection pieces that come as part of the delivery scope, the speaker can be attached to 44-55-inch televisions, bringing the audio and visual sides of your TV experience into perfect harmony with each other, whether the sound bar is attached vertically or horizontally. The HT-SL50 is designed to go with smaller televisions with 32-inch screens.

 

Flat design, in-depth sound

Together with the active subwoofer, the all-black 2.1 audio systems deliver an output of a total of 200 Watts (HT-SL70) and 100 Watts (HT-SL50) and possess HDSS (High Definition Sound Standard) for the ultimate in sound quality. All electrical inputs and outputs are located in the slimline subwoofer, making it possible to lay the attaching cable as discretely as possible. The sound bars can be connected using either a HDMI(1) or an analogue audio cable. In both cases, the sound volume can be adjusted using the TV’s remote control, doing away with the need for another remote control unit.

Another practical aspect of the system is how the sound bars automatically turn on and off once the television set is switched on and off.

The HT-SL50 will be available as of the end of May 2011 for a recommended retail price of € 249; the HT-SL70 will hit the shelves in August 2011, and its recommended retail price will be € 349.
